Sound: Energetic, alternative-rock music with catchy melodies and thought provoking lyrics.

Bio:  Cashing in Karma is an alternative rock band from Lakewood, WA. Founded by Jonny Barrett and Melvin Smith in 2015, a demo was released called Jigsaw Road that drew in the talent of Will Chi and Alex Thoburn. A year later the group released their first EP, entitled Earthbound. The release gradually helped CIK become a known band in the music scene, however, right before recording their new release they disbanded in early 2018.

After making a tough decision, Barrett decided to continue Cashing In Karma and asked his old friend, Marco Diez (Drums), to join. Having recently moved from Detroit, MI Dave Bugg (Bass) soon found his way to Cashing In Karma as well. As a newly formed three-piece band, their mission is now to put on the best shows possible, create music that people enjoy and remember, and empower anyone who has struggled with depression while bringing awareness to issues regarding the public.

The three enjoy and have shared interest in video games, jamming, listening to each other's influences, political activism, and creating silly videos.
